GML Apple Festival

Today we had a great time visiting with family and enjoying the Apple Festival at Graves Mountain Lodge. This time last year I was the size of a pumpkin and anxiously awaiting Sophia's arrival - what a difference a year makes! Sophia had a great time at her first Apple Festival and loved listening to the music, tasting an apple butter doughnut, and playing in the pumpkin patch. Here are some pictures from our fun day! (Can't wait to see cousin Jessica's photos - she's the real photographer!)

Posing with cousin Jess at the cabin.

Hanging with Jess.

Let the fun begin!

"Do they have any bigger pumpkins?"

"This pumpkin is perfect! Can we take it home?"

"yummy!"

Posing with Granny but Sophia's a little distracted by all the pumpkins.

The latest...

Sophia is still enjoying her pumpkins and now she is ready to go to the real pumpkin patch in her overalls! (Grammy got these for Sophia a long time ago and now they fit just right!)

Apparently, pumpkins are hilarious!

Sophia with Huggums, her favorite doll.

Thanks to Grammy, Sophia now has a drum. This was my drum when I was a child. I think this is payback for my parents. :)

Sophia is a very talented musician. Look at her adoring fans!

Sophia playing in her new toy box that her Great-Granddaddy fixed up for her.

All bundled up and ready for a walk in the crisp, fall air.

Daddy and Sophia ready to cheer on the Tigers at the football game during Parent's Weekend.
(Thanks Aunt Kate for the great leg warmers!)

A pumpkin patch in our own front yard!

What better way to welcome Fall then to pick pumpkins - it just so happens that these pumpkins were growing in our front yard! We were so pleased when we arrived home from Vermont this summer to find pumpkins just starting to grow. They are a product of our compost pile and the pumpkins of year's past. It has been fun watching them get bigger and today it was time to pick them!

Sophia had a great time playing with the pumpkins this morning.

"This pumpkin is just my size!"

Pretty, pretty princess

We went to the Orange Street Festival on Saturday and Grammy treated Sophia to a princess crown and boy, did she love it! When all other hats get pulled off, Sophia managed to keep the princess crown on for the majority of the day. Mmmm, what does that tell you?

"Can we build it?"

"Yes we can!"

"Like this, Pop."

"Do you need these?"

"Hey! This is fun!"

Mom got these photos of Sophia helping Pop when babysitting last Thursday while I was teaching dance. Dad was so sweet to attempt assembling our new bathroom cabinet but I think he had a little too much help...

Wheels!

"Look what I have!"

Sophia has her first set of wheels! Her walking/riding toy is one of her favorite new toys and she loves having some wheels under her. Here are some shots of her getting around...

good hair day

Sophia finally has enough hair to support a very small hair bow! A very happy day for Sophia, (but mostly for Mommy! :)
