Uncle Eric and Aunt Anna pay Sophia a visit!

Uncle Eric and Sophia

Aunt Anna and Sophia

Siblings

It was wonderful having Eric and Anna, Raph's brother and sister, visit. Because Eric is in grad school in California this was his first time getting to meet Sophia. We hope they both come back to visit us again very soon --

Pop and Sophia relaxing

After celebrating Granddaddy's 80th birthday Raph needed to return to WFS for duty. Sophia and I decided to stay in Rhoadesville (with Grammy and Pop) to enjoy a little extra time in the country. It was a relaxing stay and Sophia spent a lot of the time checking out her surroundings - she even stayed up past her bedtime because she was so curious. The highlight of the stay for Sophia was being carted around in Grammy's antique carriage.

Happy Birthday Raph!

Celebrating Raph's birthday at Supper Club.

Sophia eyeing Daddy's yummy birthday carrot cake made by Granny Herndon.

Scott, Ping, and Lydia Navitsky stopped by to bring a cake and to visit on Raph's special day. Look at these glowing Daddys!

Heading to dinner to celebrate Raph's 31st Birthday.

Our sweet girl
Sophia also had a birthday - she's now 4 months old!

We celebrated Raph's birthday all week- cake and ice cream at Supper Club, a gathering in Lynchburg, and a nice dinner at Spark's on Raph's actual birthday, March 13th. Raph's special day happened during WFS's Spring Break and Sophia and I really loved having Raph at home for a little over 2 weeks. The first week of Spring Break was production week for my play at St. Luke's, Guys and Dolls, Jr. The play was a great success and it was great having Raph at home with Sophia during the long hours of rehearsals. Raph's second week off we enjoyed the beautiful weather and traveled to Lynchburg to see the Sydnors.

And yes, our little one is now 4 months old. Wow, time really does fly. Sophia continues to be a joy and she is getting even more expressive! She coos and giggles and lately she seems to have really found her voice - she squeals and responds when you talk to her. She is so aware of her surroundings, loves to listen to books and Grammy's singing, and endures through tummy time (we are still working on rolling over). Dad and I took Sophia to the doctor today for her 4 month check-up and she performed beautifully!

Snow Daze

Today we got quite a bit of snow and I had a day off from school. Raph is on Spring Break so we all enjoyed a quiet day at home. It was fun getting bundled up and taking Sophia for a walk in the snow.

School Spirit

This is for all the Sweet Briar girls! I am happy to say that Sophia is already wearing the pink and green!

Sophia reading Fluffy Chick, quite possibly her favorite book ever.
