Sophia's first Trip to Hampden-Sydney

Are we having fun yet? This picture was taken seconds before a torrential down pour of rain.

Raph and his former coach, Dr. Thornton, watching the game.

On Saturday we traveled to Hampden-Sydney, Raph's Alma Mater, to watch a rugby game and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the rugby team. The weather was dismal but it was still fun to be back in Farmville and to reminisce about college days.

Octoberfest

Today went to the Octoberfest of Ruckersville with Lorae and Harper. It was a beautiful day and there were so many fun things to explore and enjoy! Here are some photos of our day --

We couldn't resist this photo op!

GML Apple Festival

Today we had a great time visiting with family and enjoying the Apple Festival at Graves Mountain Lodge. This time last year I was the size of a pumpkin and anxiously awaiting Sophia's arrival - what a difference a year makes! Sophia had a great time at her first Apple Festival and loved listening to the music, tasting an apple butter doughnut, and playing in the pumpkin patch. Here are some pictures from our fun day! (Can't wait to see cousin Jessica's photos - she's the real photographer!)

Hanging with Jess.

Let the fun begin!

"Do they have any bigger pumpkins?"

"This pumpkin is perfect! Can we take it home?"

"yummy!"

Posing with Granny but Sophia's a little distracted by all the pumpkins.

The latest...

Sophia is still enjoying her pumpkins and now she is ready to go to the real pumpkin patch in her overalls! (Grammy got these for Sophia a long time ago and now they fit just right!)

Apparently, pumpkins are hilarious!

Sophia with Huggums, her favorite doll.

Thanks to Grammy, Sophia now has a drum. This was my drum when I was a child. I think this is payback for my parents. :)

Sophia is a very talented musician. Look at her adoring fans!

All bundled up and ready for a walk in the crisp, fall air.

(Thanks Aunt Kate for the great leg warmers!)

A pumpkin patch in our own front yard!

What better way to welcome Fall then to pick pumpkins - it just so happens that these pumpkins were growing in our front yard! We were so pleased when we arrived home from Vermont this summer to find pumpkins just starting to grow. They are a product of our compost pile and the pumpkins of year's past. It has been fun watching them get bigger and today it was time to pick them!

Sophia had a great time playing with the pumpkins this morning.

"This pumpkin is just my size!"
