A family shot. (The jet lag started to get to Sophia - she was a little sleepy here but such a trooper throughout the entire trip.)
Aunt Judith took us to Gruyere for a wonderful day of sightseeing and eating fondue! The town is simply beautiful and one of my favorite spots in the whole world.
Visiting cousins Myriam and Jean-Christian on the last day of our trip.
Our trip to Switzerland was great! We saw so many sights with Raph's European family as our wonderful tour guides. Being with family you are able to experience the true Suisse life and we enjoyed every minute of the touring, visiting, shopping, and eating through Switzerland.
During our stay, we celebrated Raph's birthday and it was wonderful seeing Raph's grandfather and introducing him to his great-granddaughter. Pierre-Maurice came up from Montpelier, France (bearing many gifts including about 20 bottles of wine) to see us and it was so special seeing four generations all together. Raph's three wonderful aunts took very good care of us during our stay and treated us to many meals, gifts, and rides all over Switzerland. Raph's eldest aunt, Judith, brought us all to tears (especially Mom) when she told us of the school she founded in Africa. She named the school Sophia because she said the our Sophia was the future and she wanted to help provide a wonderful future for the children at her school. Amazing, right? I posted a link on the blog with more information about Ecole Sophia.
Speaking of Sophia, she amazed us all with how well she traveled and adapted to the different time and the lack of schedule. She flew like a champ and slept in her hotel bed like she was at home. Mom and Dad were a huge help with Sophia and they really made the trip great. Overall, the trip was a huge success and lots of fun. We look forward to our next European vacation hopefully not too long from now....

Sounds like a wonderful trip, Sarah. Thank you so much for sharing. I must admit that I'm a tad bit jealous of your European travels. I haven't been there since my study abroad and I would love to go back.
