Oktoberfest and a WFS Halloween

Last Friday was a busy day as we squeezed in a few more Halloween celebrations. Our first stop was to Oktoberfest in Ruckersville to play with our WFS buddies. It was a chilly morning but we bundled up and kept moving!

Spencer, Sophia, and Harper stay warm by bouncing in the toddler moon bounce.

Sophia climbed all the way to the top of this slide by herself...she then decided that she would get down by using the stairs.

She then set her sights on this HUGE slide! Thank goodness for Lorae who was brave enough to take Sophia all the way up the steep ladder and down the slide.

Tommy, Spencer, and Sophia playing with the hay inside the tunnel.

And what a difference a year makes! Our little ladies taking a break to eat some graham crackers.

Now, it's time to ride the barrel horse!

The Heffner ladies on the hay ride...

Em and little Kaia as snug as a bug in a rug.

Ready to ride!

Later that evening, we attended the WFS Halloween party for faculty children. I felt the urge to dress up too so I went as a Devil with a blue dress on.

(Sara, do you remember this costume about 7 years ago?)

Trick-or-Treating...with toddlers

Sophia was Minnie Mouse for her 2nd Halloween. She loved dressing up and luckily enough she had lots of different events to wear her costume.

Off to Trick-or-Treat! Getting ready for picture time...

A group shot of almost all of the trick-or-treaters before making our rounds.

Minnie Mouse and Ladybug Girl visiting Susan in the Registrar's office.

More treats in the Headmaster's office...

and the development offices...

and marketing.

My sweet little friends...

Visiting Cathy and Donald in the Dining Hall.

Getting a squeeze and goodies from Renee in College Counseling.

And, our last stop with some of the sweetest ladies on campus. Miss Chris, Miss Terry, and Miss Cathy in the book store.

The toddlers of WFS got a jump start on Halloween by Trick-or-Treating last Wednesday during our regularly scheduled play group time. Although it was a humid, rainy day, we had so much fun traipsing through the Walker Building. I was amazed by all the people and offices that participated and greeted us so warmly in the halls. I feel so fortunate to have a loving and safe place for Sophia and her buddies to Trick-or-Treat. Perhaps the best treat of the day was that Raph was able to be with us due to a Free Day!

A trip to the pumpkin patch

Everyone taking a lunch break before our quest for pumpkins.

The girls enjoying lollipops, a treat from Sierra.

Group shot - take one

Group shot - take two

Group shot - take three!

After this we even braved an entire group shot with moms, toddlers, and wee ones! Can't wait to see how that turned out --

After pictures it was off to find the perfect pumpkin!

The girls thought this one made for a nice drum.

Last week we took a field trip to Liberty Mills pumpkin patch in Somerset for a fun day with 6 toddler friends, moms, and little siblings. It was a busy day at the patch but we got right in there and joined the fun! We had a semi-relaxing picnic lunch and then a walk through the patch to pick our pumpkins off the vine. Sophia enjoyed being with her buddies and picking her pumpkins but she was also totally intrigued by the tomato plants we passed on the way to the pumpkins. So we came home with two pumpkins and a tomato!
